One of my customers, Monroeville Parks and Recreation, is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year so we designed a logo they could use on materials and signage all year. The customer gave me a few ideas of logos they liked, and I know the community somewhat and I’ve also been designing their course catalog for a number of years so I had a few ideas from seeing the activities they offer. From that I knew the theme of trees and greenspace was important. Below is the sheet of rough ideas I set up of for them.
You can see where on the sheet the logo appears—it was actually my first idea but I was trying to avoid the obvious and also stay with a simpler design that could be easily made into signs and printed on products. We did play around with a few others just to see how they worked out but in the end that was the winner. Logos aren’t always that simple! The color represents metallic gold, for the 50th anniversary.
