Sold a Painting in Exhibit at Galleria

cloud study framed pastel painting

Cloud Study, pastel

I love it when one of my paintings goes to someone who really loves it. The woman who purchased “Cloud Study” said she just enjoyed looking at it and couldn’t wait to have it in her home. What more could I ask for in a good home for one of my paintings?

I painted it one hot August afternoon when I needed a break from my computer, just stepping out into my back yard with a scrap of pastel paper and my field box of pastels to sketch this slow-moving cloud overhead.

The image is 5″ x 7″, framed it’s 8″ x 10″. I enjoy these little paintings where I can completely immerse myself in the subject for 20 minutes to a half hour, briefly disconnecting from the world around me to give conscious thought a break and awaken my creative sensibilities before I go on with my daily work. A little fine art makes a big creative contribution to my everyday design tasks.

So consider the gift of artwork for a special person this holiday, or purchase a little gift for yourself!

I still have two pieces in the South Hills Art League holiday art exhibit and sale at the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon. A dozen or more members submitted three pieces each, and the show looks lovely. The amount of talent in the organization never ceases to amaze me.

All pieces are framed and ready to hang.
